When To Register
Current Summit members may register for classes during the member registration period or anytime thereafter. Non-members may register during the open registration period or anytime thereafter. Please refer to the current Registration Schedule listed in the Summit Source.
Drop-In Registration
Members and guests interested in attending a class for one time only are asked to register at the Front Desk. If there is room in the class, members are charged the drop-in fee, which for most classes is $3.00 per class. Non-members are charged $12.00 per class. Some classes are progressive in nature and require the permission of the class instructor to join after a session begins. Many classes are free and require no additional charge. Check in the Summit Source or at the Front Desk for more information.
Late Registration
For late registration, the cost will be $3.00 per class for members and $12.00 per class for non-members. Some classes are progressive in nature and late registration is not allowed. Please check with the instructor and the Front Desk before completing registration after the session begins.
Full Classes
If the class is full, a waiting list will be started.
Prices
Some prices are listed as "price per class". This individual class price may reflect a higher rate and people are encouraged to register for the entire session.
Payment
Payment must be received at the time of registration in order to be placed on the class roster. Participants may register at the front desk and pay with cash, check or credit card. If you are not on the class roster, you are not eligible to participate in the class. Free classes do not require registration for each session.
Charge it to Your Account
Summit members have the benefit of charging classes and other Summit programs to your account. Please inform the front desk staff to have a fee charged to your account.
Progressive Classes
Some classes are progressive in nature where the instructor teaches each class by building on what was learned from the previous class. These classes do not allow new participants to sign-up after the first few classes. Any exceptions to this rule must be approved by the class instructor.
Cancelled Classes
Most classes have a minimum number of participants required. If this minimum number is not met, the class will be cancelled after the first meeting. A 100% refund will be extended to all participants who registered. All classes, unless cancelled in advance, will meet on the first day of a session regardless of how many people are pre-registered.
Refund Policy
After the first meeting if you do not like the class for any reason, your class registration fee will be 100% refunded. After the second class, all fees are non-refundable.
Open to the Public
The Summit and all of its programs and services are open to the community. However, there are many benefits available to Summit members, including special member prices on most classes and programs.
Non-Member Use
Adults (18 & over) may pay a day fee for full use of the facility or to attend one class. Non-members are advised to look over the schedules for each area listed in the back of the Summit Source. The Front Desk staff is also available to answer questions or check class rosters for availability. To properly access the facility, non-members age 17 and under should refer to the Non-Member Facility Guidelines Based on Age, which are also found in the back of the Summit Source.
Children of Members
Members who have children ages 5 and under may pay class fees at member rates and register their children for classes during member pre-registration times. Children age 6 and over must be enrolled as a Summit Member in order to receive member prices. Parents are advised to contact the Member Services Office if they wish to add children 6 and over to their membership.
Class Listings
All classes are listed in their respective sections. Please look in related sections for additional classes. Most class listings give a brief description of the class, cost, meeting days, times, location and appropriate age group for that class. All participants are encouraged to register early as popular classes tend to fill up fast. A new session of classes starts (on average) every seven weeks in the Winter and every four weeks in the Summer.
FVCC Classes
Flathead Valley Community College may rent facilities at The Summit and hold classes here. All questions regarding FVCC classes should be directed to the college (756-3822).
