Co-ed Competitive Volleyball League - Info

(2006-2007 Winter Season)


Indoor competitive volleyball open to all abilities. Games played on Tuesday nights. A minimum of 8 games including a double elimination tournament are scheduled. League starts November 29. Put your own team together or get your name in the Free Agent Draft available at the front desk. Teams will consist of 4 players on the court at one time. The maximum number of teams allowed is 8. This league is for ages 16 & over. Pick up a flyer by the front desk.

Cost


  • Member = $35.00 each
  • Non-member = $90.00 each





Who Should Play

  • This league is for competitive players.
  • Above all, this league is for fun.
  • This league is for ages 16 & over.




Registration

  • All participants should register at The Summit front desk.
  • It’s never too late to sign-up for this league. League fees will not be pro-rated.
  • When you register you will be asked to designate your team or list yourself as a “FREE AGENT” if you do not have a team.
  • Fees are only refundable prior to the second scheduled game.
  • Registration deadline will be November 21st.

Spectators

Families and friends are invited to watch the games from the balcony viewing area and the bleachers.



Teams

  • Teams will consist of 4 players on the floor at one time. The maximum number of teams allowed in this league is 8.
  • Remember you don’t have to be on a team to sign up! You can sign up as a “FREE AGENT” at The Summit front desk to be possibly picked up by a team (come to the first games - November 27th, 8-11 PM) or a team of all “FREE AGENT” players will be created.
  • Each team must have a team captain.
  • You can have as many players on your team as you want.
  • This is a Co-ed league. There must be an equal number of males and females on the court at all times.




Results

  • Official results will be posted on The Summit bulletin boards in the front lobby each week as well as on The Summit website.
  • There will be a double elimination tournament with prizes for the 1st place team.




Policies

  • The Summit does not provide coaching for this league.
  • Players will be ejected for any type of inappropriate behavior.
  • All non-members must check in at the front desk to be admitted into the facility.
  • All league participants must sign a liability waiver before they may play.




Volunteers

  • Volunteers are what make this league run smooth.
  • Each volunteer will receive FREE passes to The Summit.
  • If you are interested in being a volunteer, please call Kevin Smith at 751-4133 or fill out a volunteer release form that can be obtained at the front desk in The Summit or printed from The Summit website. Go to volunteer request form (pdf).




Game Format

  • All games will utilize rally scoring; the firts two games will be played to 25, must win by 2 points.
  • Best out of 3 games wins the match or the top of the hour. The third game, if needed will be played to 15 and must win by 2 points.
  • There may be a “bye” week for each team.
  • Teams are required to track and report their game scores after each game on the scoresheet.
