Group Information

What is a Group:
For most activities, a group must have 10 or more people to receive the group rate with advance notice. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. at least one week in advance and are scheduled to coordinate with established Summit schedules. If there are less than 10 people, the day fee is available for use of the facility. For after hours rental, a flat rate is charged and there is no minimum number of people required. The cost to rent the facility after hours is dependent upon what part(s) of the facility is being used. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED.

Advanced reservations are required, and all requests will be considered on a first come first served basis. The overwhelming response from the community has made The Summit a very popular place. We advise groups to make requests for specific dates at least 1 month in advance., and requests should include as many details as possible: Who, what, where, when, why, how. All groups must have a group leader and contact number identified in advance.



Deposit:
During regular business hours, non-members must pay a non-refundable $30.00 reservation/lobby fee to secure the reservation. A confirmation letter from The Summit will then be sent when the reservation has been confirmed. All after hour group reservations will be confirmed when a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is made. A confirmation letter from The Summit will be sent when the reservation has been confirmed.



Payment:
Groups making reservations during business hours must pay for the group at the Front Desk upon entry. When prior arrangements have been made, bills may be sent directly to the responsible party. Group rates are available only when reservations are made at least one week in advance. When reservations are not made in advance, Summit day fees will apply for each group member.



Use During Business Hours:
During regular business hours, areas of The Summit are available to community groups during periods of slow activity (usually occur during weekday afternoons) and are dependent on The Summit schedule for the area requested. Furthermore, The Summit is open to the public, and groups with reservations will share the facility with Summit members. During Peak times (mornings, late afternoons, and evening), The Summit may be unavailable to groups because of the already large volume of people using the facility. The user fee is charged on a per person basis, and current Summit members within the group are not charged this additional fee.



After Hours Use:
After business hours, The Summit can be rented for exclusive and private use. The rate charged depends on the area(s) of the facility being used. The facility is closed to the public during these times and the group rates are the same for Summit members and non-members alike.



Not Available:
The therapy pool, cardiovascular mezzanine, free weights area, and exercise equipment are not available for group use unless authorized in advance.



Pool Rental:
The Summit Lap pool is 25 yards long by 15 yards wide. The shallow end is 3 ½ feet deep and the deep end if 8 ½ feet deep. The maximum capacity of the lap pool is 80 people at one time. Adults and Summit members 13 and over may use the men’s and women’s locker rooms, each have a sauna and separate steam room. The boys’ locker room, girls’ locker room, and family locker rooms. are available to children and families. Swim suits are required at all times. Please no cut-offs or T-shirts in the pool. It is mandatory that every person must shower off completely before entering the water. Certified Lifeguards are provided but chaperones are also required in this area at all times. Children under 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. A 1 to 10 ratio of chaperones is required to be in the locker rooms at all times. The pool is closed to the public and Summit members.

Gym Rental:
The Summit gymnasium is 115 ft. x 67 ft. and comes complete with scoreboard, bleachers and many games including regulation NBA size basketball court, 6 retractable basketball backboards, volleyball, and soccer. Only clean gym shoes without rocks or dirt on them are allowed on the gym floor. No street shoes are allowed. Play in socks is fine. The bleachers in the gym have seating for about 100 people. The maximum capacity of the gym is 80 people at one time. One chaperone per 10 children under age 18 is required in the gym at all times. The gym is available for group use only during open gym times. Please refer to the current LifePath for the gym schedule. After hours rental is also available.

During Regular Business Hours
$3.50 per person/per hour; $35.00 minimum/ per hour for half the gym; $70.00 minimum/per hour for whole gym

After Business Hours
$7.00 per person/per hour; $140.00 minimum/per hour



Climbing Wall Rental:
The Summit climbing wall is a state-of-the-art masterpiece that rivals any other climbing wall in this part of the northwest. The wall is 30 feet high and 38 feet wide with a textured rock-like surface that is just as challenging as the real thing. The pre-set hand holds and foot holds will accommodate beginners and experts alike while the ropes and high tech hardware will ensure a safe and exciting experience. The amount of people that can access the climbing wall, per hour, depends on the abilities of each individual. A normal group will be able to put approximately 12 climbers per hour on the climbing wall. Each person will be able to climb the wall 2 to 3 times. For small groups, one certified climbing instructor will be present and for larger groups, 2 climbing instructors will be available. Each individual climber will be custom fitted with special climbing shoes and a climbing harness before getting on the wall. Each person must have a special climbing wall release form signed before they can climb (under 18 needs a parent signature). which can be downloaded from the web site. The wall is available for group use only during certain times. Please refer to the current LifePath for the climbing wall schedule. After hours rental is also available.

Studio Rental:
The Summit has two aerobic/dance studios complete with mirrors hand rails and a floating floor made of maple wood. Studio A measure 50 ft. x 35 ft. and Studio B is 30 ft. x 40 ft. The studios are available for group use only during certain times. Please refer to the current LifePath brochure studio schedules.

Glacier Tennis at The Summit:

Conference Room Rental:
The Summit has four conference rooms complete with tables, chairs, TV/VCR, podium, slide projector and overhead projector. Different types of set-up will determine the capacity of each room. Prices in parentheses are for non-profit organizations. Please contact Community Health Promotion for reservations and/or more information. 751-4500

Full Facility Rental:
Renting the entire Summit facility is an experience you will never forget. Great for graduations or the ultimate private party. In addition to the pool, hot tub, locker rooms, steam rooms, saunas and gymnasium, your group will have use of the indoor track, 4 racquetball courts, walleyball, volleyball, basketball, ping pong room and lobby area. The Summit will supply staff for all of the main areas. The maximum capacity of the facility is 300 people. The full facility rental is available only after business hours. Reservations are required at least one month in advance. Conference Rooms are available at an additional cost.
Full Facility: $500/hour

Clothing:
Participants are asked to wear clean gym shoes or socks while in the facility. Street shoes are not allowed on the racquetball courts, aerobic studios, track or gymnasium floor. Shoes must be checked for dirt, rocks and other materials before Swim suits are required for use of the pool and hot tub. Please, no cut-offs in the pool. All participants are required to bring their own towels.

Chaperones:
All groups with children under the age of 18 must have chaperones assigned in advance. The ratio for chaperones to children is 1 chaperone for every 10 children. All chaperones will be admitted to the facility free of charge during the group visit. The chaperones will be assigned to various stations where they must stay and keep an eye on a certain area. Chaperones should wear gym shoes and casual clothing. Please wear cool clothes in the pool area as it tends to be very warm. Our pool and hot tub water contain chlorine and if splashed on clothing may cause staining. Children under 18 may not us the weights or fitness machines at any time. An adult is required in the water for every child 6 and under.

Food:
Groups are allowed to bring and serve food in the lobby area of the Summit and in the Conference Rooms. However, food and drinks are not allowed downstairs or in any other area. The group is responsible for setting up and cleaning up after the food is served. The Summit does not provide ice, cups, utensils, plates, napkins, or any other items needed to accompany the food. Groups planning to serve food are advised to confirm their plans with the Summit when making their reservation.

Our Procedures:
Please allow an addition half-hour to the arrival and departure time of your group.

Upon arrival an additional half-hour will be taken to:

  • Gather your group in the lobby
  • Get an accurate count of the participants
  • Check in at the Front Desk
  • Make arrangements for remaining fees
  • Review guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Review clothing requirements
  • Complete release forms if necessary
  • Proceed downstairs to the locker rooms, change, and lock away belongings


Before departure, an additional half-hour will be needed to:

  • Stop activities
  • Clean up
  • Vacate activity areas
  • Use showers and change clothes
  • Organize the group and chaperones
  • Check out at the Front Desk and exit the building
