S.P.A.R.K.



Mission Statement

The mission of the S.P.A.R.K. After School program is to provide a safe environment for children ages 6 - 12 to participate in sports related activities and learn how to live a healthy lifestyle.




Program Registration

Pre-Registration: July 21-25 (Available for all children that were in the Afterschool program during the 2007/2008 school year)
Open Registration: July 28 Begins at 7:00am




Pick Up

Each child must be picked up by a parent or guardian listed on their registration form. Parents are asked to formally check-out with our staff before their child is released. Please ensure that your child is picked up by 6:30 PM. There will be a late charge of $5.00 for the first 15 minutes you are late picking up your child and $1.00 per minute there after.




Each Child Should Bring

For members to sign-up:
  • Clean Gym Shoes.
  • Appropriate clothing for activities.
  • Swim wear and towel on lesson day.
  • Healthy snack or money to buy one.
  • A Great Attitude.





Scholarship assistance is available. Please call for more information and an application. Scholarship funding provided by Daybreak Rotary.




Days and Hours

The S.P.A.R.K. program runs Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM.

The program starts the Tuesday after Labor Day and runs through mid-June. We follow the Kalispell School District 5 calendar.




No School

What if there is no school? Don’t worry, we offer a “No School Fun Camp” on most days that there is no school. Please pick up a separate brochure at The Summit for more information.




Discipline

The staff recognizes and encourages each child’s capabilities and praises positive, growth-oriented behavior. Good behavior is essential to our program. We expect children to be respectful of other children and of our staff. Talking back, yelling or fighting is not tolerated. We enforce a hands off policy.




Sick or Injured

We do not accept sick or injured children into this program.




Daily Activities

3:30 - 4:15 = Change clothes, bathroom break, snack time in the S.P.A.R.K. zone.

4:15 - 4:30 = Warm up and stretch out in the gymnasium.

4:30 - 5:15 = Break into small age appropriate groups for activities such as swimming, tennis, games in the gym, homework and board games.

5:15 - 6:00 = Large group games and free time in the gym.

6:00 - 6:30 = Cool down and quiet activities in the S.P.A.R.K. zone.
